Hi guys, i’ve been working my butt off on these systems for over a year now, and i’ve finally got them to a point where i feel comfortable letting to public begin to subscribe to them to use on their own websites.
I’m not good at marketing myself, nor my products, so i was wondering if i could get some feedback on what users THINK about these systems, and what they think about the way i’m presenting them (eg, words, design, layout, USABILITY, etc). It would also be great if someone actually USED them and told me what they thought. I need to know how this site FEELS to the user, and if it gets the point across accurately, and lets the user know WHAT this is that i've built, and HOW it BENEFITS them. The website in question is: http://iims.ionisis.com You would click on a particular system to view its details; that main iims page is just an overview as to how my SaaS framework works with the systems. If you actually wanted to check them out and USE them to see how they feel (usability), you can see them and use them at TheSocialExpo.com I REALLY appreciate any help on this, as i’ve been working on this for FAR too long to give up now… Thanks. |

one thing that intrigue me is that you've developed the SMMM yet you use youtube embeds to display your video? I would have assumed that you used the systems on your website.
If thats you on the voice overdubs it sounds like you enjoy saying "SaaS"! I signed up to try it out. waiting on my email now... |

right col links are just # at this stage...
I notice you also mention that only firefox can handle the system. what are its limitations regarding webkit browsers such as chrome/safari? your borders could be dropped to 1px. they look a bit too strong. overall a pretty reasonable site, I would however be interested to know how much control you have over the layout in you system vs how much is predefined. actually could you set me up a trial account to test it. I am ill inclined to purchase credit for the site, which I was unable to do anyway as the page is a 404. Quote:

Sorry, i fell asleep while working, again
.Ok, so the reason i use youtube, is because IE has not yet caught up with the html5/webm implementation (waiting on IE9 to be widely adopted before i make the switch for the PRESENTATION videos, to ensure that EVERYONE can watch them). However, firefox 4 CAN play webm, as well as chrome. Since IE is a bit more than 1/3 of the market still, i still have to accommodate for it. As far as the borders go, i used to have them at 1px, but they looked too sketchy, so i beefed them up just a bit. As far as layout control, you have a lot of it. The default css files provide a GENERIC structure, which is suitable for a majority of ALL sites. Then you edit the DESIGN aspect via your default.css file. Now, if there is something that you don't like about the generic structure, i try to remember to add ID attributes to main content containers, so that you can OVERRIDE them in your default.css, and change the structure entirely. "right col links are just # at this stage...". I'm not sure what you mean by that. As far as the 404, could you please tell me what page you were on, that gave to the LINK that LEAD to the 404? That IS me doing the voice dubs. I'll be remaking ALL of the videos in about a week, when i open the doors to the public. As far as setting you up with an account, hit the contact link on ionisis.com and give me your email, and tell me you're the guy from we love css, and i'll give you 60$ in credits for free, as i'd LOVE to have a client site on a REMOTE server running on my systems for a week or two before i launch, so that i could get the much needed feedback from them (you) on how their server is handling my server. All of the sites currently running on the framework are on the SAME server, so it's not as realistic as a remote server, which would be the normal setup in the future. BEFORE you can start, there is ONE more thing i need to change in the API setup kit, before it's ready. It's already good now, but i need to add PING functionality to it, so that when the SMMM tries to send to the server, it can ping it first, to make sure it's online, to conserve bandwidth. The reason for this is because if your server goes down, the SMMM system will CONTINUE to attempt to send your transcoded multimedia to your server FOREVER, until it succeeds. It's pretty damned robust. Oh, that reminds me, there's one more small change i need to make to the SMMM itself, before i let anyone use it. I can have it done in a few hours. Ok, so i'll crack down on those 2 things, and have it ready for you in about 3 or 6 hours from now. I'll just PM you my email so that you don't need to use the contact form on ionisis.com . If you don't get my PM, then go ahead and use the contact form. |
