Default Cannot scroll down on IE (But firefox, safari ok)

Hi, I'd be grateful for any help anyone can give me. I'm a beginner to CSS so it's hopefully just something small I'm doing wrong.

Basically my website looks fine on Safari (as I'm a mac user), but I recently tested it on a PC and for some reason it cuts off the body copy and sticks the footer image in too early instead of allowing the body area to extend down.

The above link is a good example of this happening.
Thanks!

My CSS is attached:
Code:
@charset "UTF-8";
/* CSS Document */

@import url("reset.css");

body {background: url(../images/background.jpg); font-size: 15px}

.center {margin: auto; top: 0; right: 0; bottom: 0; left: 0; text-align:center; width: 1152px;}

p {text-align: left; line-height: 20px}

#header {background:url(../images/heading.jpg) no-repeat; width: 1152px; height:173px}
.newstext {
	width: 300px;
	margin-right: auto;
	margin-left: auto;
}
.main {
	background: url(../images/backgroundpaper.jpg) repeat-y;
	float: none;
	height: auto;
	overflow: hidden;
}
.column1 {
	float: left;
	width: 800px;
	visibility: visible;
	overflow: visible;
	position: static;
}
.page {
	height: 455px;
	width: 1000px;
	margin-right: auto;
	margin-left: auto;
}
.column2 {
	float: right;
	width: 200px;
	color: #333333;
	padding-top: 3px}
a:link {
	color: #666666;
	text-decoration: none;
}
a:visited {
	color: #666666;
	text-decoration: none;
}
a:hover {
	color: #66CCFF;
	text-decoration: none;
}
a:active {
	text-decoration: none;
}
body,td,th {
	color: #333333;
}
.newspaper {
	background: url(../images/profile_newpaper.png) no-repeat;
}
.book {
	background: url(../images/profile_book.jpg);
}

.image-heading {margin-bottom: 20px}

Thanks for you reply!

I have done what you said, found two errors and I have a feeling it's the first error giving me the problem, but not sure how to correct it.
Can anyone help?

Code:
Line 50, Column 35: there is no attribute "height"
        <table width="780" height="1610" border="0" cellpadding="5" cellspacing…

Just what it says, "height" nor "width" exist under your current HTML version. Use CSS instead.

Because EI doesn't exist.

Really it's just that different browsers respond differently to invalid code. IE is usually the one that is stricter, hence it causes more errors. Sometimes it's the more lenient one though when there is an error on all the other browsers.

I didn't update it. That is the original. Not to worry though, people skip over the second paragraph all the time.
